From public buildings to private homes, architecture driving resilience and change.
Designing public spaces that connect heritage, community, and modern life.
Design that balances aesthetics, functionality, and a unique sense of home
I am an architect, researcher, and advocate for sustainable cities. My professional and academic trajectory is guided by a profound conviction: architecture and urbanism are not merely technical disciplines, but social, political, and cultural instruments capable of transforming societies. My commitment is centered on a crucial idea: to rebuild and rethink fragile cities, particularly Port-au-Prince not as replicas of external models, but as collective creations rooted in history, memory, and local aspirations.
My path combines scientific rigor with architectural practice. Trained as an architect and specialized in urbanism, I master contemporary design tools—computer-aided drawing, architectural post-production, photorealistic rendering—alongside technical knowledge of the National Building Code and public procurement systems. Yet beyond these skills, I envision architecture as a living text: the written expression of a society that seeks to endure, to recover, and to build with intelligence and responsibility.
My Master’s research at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) addressed the reconstruction of Port-au-Prince after the 2010 earthquake (Principles of Urban Planning and Management in a Contemporary Context: Strategies for the Reconstruction of Urban Space in Port-au-Prince, Haiti). By comparing the experiences of Medellín, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires with the Haitian context, I proposed a strategic framework structured around four axes: decentralized governance, spatial justice, citizen co-production, and housing resilience. This work demonstrated that urban resilience is not an abstract notion, but a praxis that must be anchored in culture, memory, and local dynamics.
Currently a PhD candidate at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), I am deepening these reflections by examining the intersections between social urbanism, heritage preservation, and post-disaster planning. My ambition is clear: to contribute to the construction of a theoretical and practical framework that allows vulnerable cities to become spaces of justice, resilience, and equity. I believe that architecture, far from being a mere backdrop, is the living expression of humanity in its states of strength and intelligence a collective work for the city of tomorrow.
