This article addresses the effects and impacts of the 2010 earthquake on the
architectural heritage of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Considering that the destruction of
architectural heritage affects collective memory, this article aims to present what remains of
Port-au-Prince's heritage and what can be recovered. A documentary approach is adopted,
including the analysis of official images and specialized journals covering the period from
2010 to 2022. The results show a significant loss of historical and identity landmarks, as well
as important social and urban impacts. Strategies are proposed for the recovery and
valorization of iconic buildings, involving local communities, and promoting cultural
initiatives to strengthen the identity of Port-au-Prince.
